The Womb & The Pierced Heart: An Embodied Journey with Our Lady of Sorrows

September 15, 2026 | 11 to 12:30 PM PST | FREE

At the foot of the Cross, Mary cannot change what is happening. She cannot take the suffering away. She cannot determine the outcome. Yet, she remains present, in her pierced heart, fully and willingly remaining with what is before her.

The Seven Sorrows of Mary invite us to consider what happens when the layers we use to protect ourselves fall away. What remains when we stop trying to control the uncontrollable? What becomes possible when we release the demand to know, fix, prevent, or rescue? Can we remain present without needing to control the outcome?

This is the invitation for this month’s womb circle.

We will enter the Seven Sorrows of Mary as a journey into the sacred mystery of sorrow, surrender, and presence. Because there is a difference between sorrow, grief, and suffering. Sorrow is the ache of the heart when something we love has been wounded, lost, or changed. Grief is the process of learning to live with that loss. And suffering is the broader experience of pain—the places in our lives where we encounter what we cannot always understand, prevent, or control.

We will explore what it might mean to become a little more like Our Lady of Sorrows. Not by trying harder. Not by becoming detached or bypassing our hurt. But by allowing ourselves to be stripped of the illusion that we must control everything in order to be safe. To meet the places where our hearts are pierced. To honor what we are grieving. To release what is no longer ours to carry. And to discover what remains when we stop fighting what is already here.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
